On behalf of Prof. Thomas Helbich (EUSOBI 2012 President) and Dr. Marina
Álvarez Benito (SEDIM President) as well as the European Society of
Breast Imaging and the Sociedad Española de Diagnóstico por Imagen de la
Mama, we would like to cordially thank you for your participation at
this year's Annual Scientific Meeting, held from October 12-13, 2012, in
Barcelona, Spain.
The scientific programme of the congress attracted more than 500
participants from Europe and the rest of the world, a massive increase
compared to previous years. In parallel the number of members increased
to 350 thus EUSOBI is now considered one of the fastest growing
subsocieties among the ESR.
Highlights of the meeting included the Key Note Lecture, held by Dr.
Sickles and the Honorary Lecture by Dr. Brasch as well as the Carla
Boetes Memorial Lecture, held by Dr. Mann.
For the first time the European Diploma in Breast Imaging (EDBI) was
offered, which will be a common European qualification for breast
imagers and will help to standardise training and expertise in breast
imaging across Europe. In addition three young radiologists as
recipients of the Carla Boetes Young Investigator Awards were offered
the option to present their breast related abstracts within a session.
In the run-up to the congress the second Breast MRI Training Course took
place.
We hope you have enjoyed the congress and look very much forward to
welcoming you again in 2013, when the meeting will be held in the city
of Rome, Italy.

CME Accreditation
The EUSOBI Annual Scientific Meeting 2012 was granted 11 European CME credits (ECMEC) by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME) to provide CME activity for medical specialists.
