The programme of this webinar will cover the role of contrast media in radiology, where drugs are used for diagnostic purpose and not for therapeutic effects; doses are often in grams rather than milligrams.
It is aimed at breast radiologists, radiology residents/juniors, medical or PhD students, nuclear medicine physicians or radiation therapists who want to improve their skills in:
- knowledge of the role and safety of different contrast media
- decision making when to use different contrast media considering their advantages and risks
After watching the webinar, participants will be able to:
- recognize and describe different type of contrast reaction and define safety of contrast media, knowing predisposing mechanism,
- risk factors and preventive measures, in order to improve patient management and decision making
- assessment of potential reactions, know their initial management and treatment algorithm
