EUSOBI President, Vice-President and Past-President are proud to announce that after our proposal and the official nomination, Prof. Dr. Michael Fuchsjäger has been elected 2nd Vice-President of the European Society of Radiology.

Prof. Dr. Fuchsjäger is the Chairman of the Department of Radiology at the Medical University of Graz, Austria. He is a true leader in the promotion of clinical excellence, education, and research. His scientific work to date results in more than 60 peer-reviewed articles focusing on breast radiology, more than 380 lectures at national and international conferences and invitations to the editorial boards of Radiology and European Radiology, amongst other prestigious journals.
He has organized or co-organized more than 60 courses and congresses on a national and international level – including the new, highly successful EUSOBI Diagnostic and Interventional Breast Ultrasound Course.
Most importantly, he is a major contributor to society affairs and highly active as the Chairperson of the International Relations Committee of EUSOBI and as the Chair of the Communication and External Affairs Committee in the Executive Council of the ESR. Furthermore, he has served on the programme planning committee of the ECR continuously since 2012 – therefore he is an important contact between ESR and our Society. With regard to Prof. Fuchsjäger’s professional and academic experience and achievements, his national and international reputation, and his long-standing contributions to the ESR, he is an excellent candidate for the office of 2nd Vice-President of the ESR.
