General description, scope and objectives of this webinar

The programme of this webinar will cover the latest developments in lymph node and distant staging for breast cancer, including standard and advanced imaging modalities, current practices in the diagnosis and treatment of the axilla and guidance on when to perform distant staging.
It is aimed at breast radiologists, radiology residents/juniors, medical or PhD students, nuclear medicine physicians or radiation therapists who want to improve their skills in:

  • Evaluating lymph node involvement and distant metastases using diagnostic imaging techniques and interpretation skills.
  • Understanding current practices and guidelines for axillary management, including principles of treatment de-escalation.
  • Determining appropriate clinical scenarios for performing distant staging in breast cancer patients, stratifying patients for optimal treatemnt planning

After watching the webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Identify key imaging findings indicative of nodal and distant metastatic disease in breast cancer.
  • Integrate imaging results with clinical and pathological data to improve staging accuracy and guide multidisciplinary decision-making.
  • Apply current guidelines in the diagnosis and treatment of the axilla, with an emphasis on treatment de-escalation where applicable.
